Newman Virginia Roots

Five out of six of Abner Newman’s daughters died in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. At this early time, the cemeteries only have field stones, not tombstones. I have located a cemetery on the old estate of Elizabeth Newman married to Samuel McKinney. There are approximately forty five graves. It is possible, and I theorize, that Elizabeth and her parents Abner Newman and wife Dorothy Steagall were buried at this cemetery. Abner did not own land, so he would not have had land for a family cemetery.
